El gobernador Crist\u00f3bal Juli\u00e1 declar\u00f3: \u201cHay barrios llenos de barro, gente que ha perdido todo\u201d, y asegur\u00f3 que el temporal super\u00f3 7 INTERNACIONALES con creces las lluvias de 1997. El presidente Kast decret\u00f3 estado de cat\u00e1strofe para agilizar la ayuda. El viceministro del Interior, M\u00e1ximo Pavez, calific\u00f3 el evento de \u201canormal y extremo\u201d: en una hora cay\u00f3 la lluvia de un mes. Aguas del Valle evacu\u00f3 instalaciones.
