Como se\u00f1ala el economista Carlos L\u00f3pez: \u201cLos subsidios el\u00e9ctricos impiden invertir para evitar apagones. El sector est\u00e1 regulado y con pocos recursos para mejorar\u201d. El verdadero cuello de botella son los ingresos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ecuador controla la inflaci\u00f3n (2,5%), pero su PIB per c\u00e1pita (6.850) est\u00e1 muy por debajo del promedio mundial (13.900) y de Chile (17.200) o M\u00e9xico (12.400). El salario b\u00e1sico (482) cubre solo el 57,4482. En cambio, Chile alcanza el 82%, M\u00e9xico el 75% y Colombia el 68%; incluso el promedio latinoamericano (65%) supera a Ecuador. La economista Andrea Dom\u00ednguez resume: \u201cEcuador es un pa\u00eds donde la energ\u00eda es barata, pero la vida no necesariamente lo es. Los precios bajos no compensan los sueldos cortos\u201d.
