Cinco ataques armados, desde el mediod\u00eda hasta la noche, dejaron cuatro fallecidos y una persona gravemente herida.\u00a0\u00a0<br>\u00a0<br>Los hechos, en distintos sectores de esta ciudad costera, reflejan la creciente inseguridad: ya suman 128 muertes violentas en lo que va de 2026. El primer ataque ocurri\u00f3 al mediod\u00eda en el barrio Santa Luc\u00eda (parroquia Eloy Alfaro), donde un herido grave fue reportado. Por la tarde, en un callej\u00f3n del barrio 8 de enero (parroquia Tarqui), cerca del centro comercial Nuevo Tarqui, Rub\u00e9n Eduardo C\u00e1rdenas, de 25 a\u00f1os, fue atacado a tiros y falleci\u00f3 en el hospital Rafael Rodr\u00edguez Zambrano por la gravedad de sus heridas.\u00a0\u00a0<br>\u00a0<br>A las 19:30, en la avenida 113, cerca del barrio\u00a0Jocay, asesinaron a Edwin Enrique Medranda Alc\u00edvar, abogado de 47 a\u00f1os reconocido en la ciudad. Seg\u00fan testigos, se movilizaba en su veh\u00edculo cuando un sujeto armado en motocicleta le dispar\u00f3 en repetidas ocasiones; se escucharon m\u00faltiples detonaciones. Finalmente, el doble asesinato ocurri\u00f3 cerca de las 21:30 en el barrio La Pradera 2, donde sujetos armados ingresaron a una vivienda y dispararon contra dos personas, presuntamente hermanos.\u00a0\u00a0<br>Ambos murieron en el lugar y no han sido identificados oficialmente. Tras el ataque, la Polic\u00eda y militares se desplegaron para recabar indicios y reforzar la seguridad, ante la alarma de los vecinos. Los cuerpos fueron trasladados a la morgue.
