El detonante fue la \u201ctasa de seguridad\u201d del presidente Daniel Noboa: un arancel del 30% a productos colombianos, justificado por falta de corresponsabilidad en seguridad fronteriza. D\u00edas despu\u00e9s, el 26 de febrero, Ecuador lo elev\u00f3 al 50% (vigente desde el 1 de marzo). En 2025, Ecuador export\u00f3 a Colombia USD 808,4 millones e import\u00f3 USD 1.717 millones, con un d\u00e9ficit cercano a USD 1.000 millones.
