El incidente ha puesto en alerta a las fuerzas de seguridad de todo el pa\u00eds. El NYPD despleg\u00f3 patrullas de alta visibilidad en centros religiosos y culturales jud\u00edos de los cinco distritos, citando un \u00abentorno de amenaza elevado\u00bb. En un comunicado, indicaron: \u00abEstamos en contacto con las fuerzas del orden y, por precauci\u00f3n, continuamos con el despliegue preventivo\u00bb, instando a aplicar el protocolo \u00absi ve algo, diga algo\u00bb. Seg\u00fan el sheriff del condado de Oakland, Michael Bouchard, el sospechoso portaba un rifle e intercambi\u00f3 disparos con los agentes antes de ser abatido dentro del autom\u00f3vil. La \u00fanica v\u00edctima herida es un agente de seguridad que fue atropellado durante la embestida y cuya recuperaci\u00f3n se espera satisfactoria.
