El accidente ocurri\u00f3 alrededor de las 15:04, en el \u00faltimo d\u00eda del feriado de carnaval. El veh\u00edculo, de color blanco y perteneciente a la compa\u00f1\u00eda Alianza, se sali\u00f3 de la calzada y qued\u00f3 volcado en una quebrada, entre la maleza. Seg\u00fan el ECU 911, no se reportaron v\u00edctimas mortales, aunque dos personas quedaron atrapadas y fueron liberadas por rescatistas. Seis personas resultaron gravemente heridas, con fracturas y m\u00faltiples lesiones; una de ellas se encuentra en estado cr\u00edtico. El Cuerpo de Bomberos de Cuenca moviliz\u00f3 cinco efectivos y tres veh\u00edculos de emergencia para la atenci\u00f3n. La unidad sufri\u00f3 p\u00e9rdida total.
