Aseguraron que no ingresaron. No obstante, Ecuador activ\u00f3 protocolos de emergencia y present\u00f3 una nota de protesta ante la Embajada de EE.UU. en Quito. El incidente, captado en video, escal\u00f3 diplom\u00e1ticamente, recordando que los consulados gozan de inmunidad. Medios estadounidenses recordaron que, por norma internacional, las sedes consulares gozan de protecciones y las autoridades del pa\u00eds anfitri\u00f3n no pueden ingresar sin autorizaci\u00f3n del jefe de misi\u00f3n consular.
