La informaci\u00f3n fue confirmada por la Empresa P\u00fablica Petroecuador este jueves, 4 de diciembre de 2025. Seg\u00fan informaci\u00f3n oficial, la refiner\u00eda retoma operaciones tras culminar los trabajos de mantenimiento ejecutados por los da\u00f1os provocados por un sismo y un incendio ocurrido en mayo de 2025 en ese cant\u00f3n. 188 D\u00cdAS DE TRABAJOS ESPECIALIZADOS El mantenimiento integral tuvo una duraci\u00f3n aproximada de 188 d\u00edas y fue necesario luego del sismo de magnitud 6 registrado en Esmeraldas y el incendio del 26 de mayo, que afectaron directamente el funcionamiento de la unidad. Para recuperar su operatividad, Petroecuador ejecut\u00f3 un plan estructurado en tres fases: Restablecimiento el\u00e9ctrico inicial, que permiti\u00f3 reiniciar operaciones en diciembre de 2025. Rehabilitaci\u00f3n del sistema el\u00e9ctrico de Catal\u00edticas 1, que fortalecer\u00e1 la producci\u00f3n en el primer semestre de 2026.
