Seg\u00fan el ente acusador, Carlos Eduardo Mora Gonz\u00e1lez acept\u00f3 su responsabilidad en el atentado del 7 de junio en Bogot\u00e1 contra el senador opositor al gobierno del izquierdista de Gustavo Petro, un hecho que sacudi\u00f3 la carrera a las elecciones presidenciales de 2026. El condenado se encarg\u00f3 de transportar al sicario menor de edad, que fue sentenciado a siete a\u00f1os de reclusi\u00f3n. Por el magnicidio hay otros cuatro detenidos, pero a\u00fan no ha sido identificado el autor intelectual. Adem\u00e1s, afirman que con la \u201cfachada\u201d de ser un conductor a trav\u00e9s de plataformas virtuales de transporte \u201cmoviliz\u00f3 armas y estupefacientes\u201d.
