Desde 2023 se negocian las nuevas condiciones.<br><br>La falta de un convenio impide la llegada de nueva tecnolog\u00eda e inversiones. La \u00faltima vez que el Estado ecuatoriano firm\u00f3 un contrato con las operadoras de telefon\u00eda m\u00f3vil fue en 2008, y deb\u00eda renovarse en 2023.<br><br>En aquella \u00e9poca, la comunicaci\u00f3n era diferente: los tel\u00e9fonos se usaban principalmente para llamadas regulares y env\u00edo de mensajes de texto, mientras que apenas llegaban los primeros dispositivos con conexi\u00f3n a internet, con funciones limitadas. Diecisiete a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s, las condiciones para Conecel (Claro) y Otecel (Movistar y Tuenti) se mantienen sin cambios porque no se ha firmado el nuevo contrato.<br><br>Para preservar el servicio, el Estado entreg\u00f3 una pr\u00f3rroga indefinida a Claro y ha ejecutado ocho pr\u00f3rrogas con Movistar. La \u00faltima culmin\u00f3 este mi\u00e9rcoles, sin una respuesta oficial sobre si habr\u00e1 o no una novena renovaci\u00f3n.<br><br>Adem\u00e1s, la renovaci\u00f3n del t\u00edtulo habilitante es un paso imprescindible para que la compa\u00f1\u00eda Millicom, con su marca Tigo, pueda ingresar al pa\u00eds, luego de adquirir Movistar y Tuenti Ecuador, que operan bajo Otecel.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>El mi\u00e9rcoles 15 de octubre venci\u00f3 el plazo de la octava pr\u00f3rroga otorgada por el Estado para la firma del contrato con las empresas telef\u00f3nicas.
