Un total de <strong>1.500 iguanas terrestres<\/strong> (Conolophus subcristatus) fueron trasladadas desde la Isla Seymour hacia la Isla Santiago, como parte de un plan de reintroducci\u00f3n que busca garantizar su supervivencia en un ecosistema m\u00e1s amplio y con mayores recursos naturales. La acci\u00f3n, desarrollada entre agosto y octubre, se enmarca en las pol\u00edticas del #MinisterioDeAmbiente y #Energ\u00eda orientadas a la protecci\u00f3n de ecosistemas sensibles y la restauraci\u00f3n de especies end\u00e9micas. El proceso de reintroducci\u00f3n se ejecut\u00f3 en tres fases y bajo estrictos protocolos de bioseguridad. Las iguanas fueron seleccionadas en buen estado de salud y con una adecuada condici\u00f3n corporal.
