Un a\u00f1o m\u00e1s tarde firm\u00f3 con el Deportivo Quito.<br><br>Con la AKD, el atacante se convirti\u00f3 en goleador de la Copa Libertadores 1986, lo que despert\u00f3 el inter\u00e9s del Botafogo de Brasil.
