La v\u00edctima, retenida en un inmueble en el sector Santa Rosa, cant\u00f3n Pichincha, fue rescatada tras un enfrentamiento en el que uno de los secuestradores fue abatido y tres fueron capturados. El hecho ocurri\u00f3 cuando tres sujetos irrumpieron en un domicilio, sometieron a los presentes, robaron 250 d\u00f3lares de una caja fuerte, joyas y una camioneta, y secuestraron a la ingeniera. Los antisociales exig\u00edan 120.000 d\u00f3lares por su liberaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> La Unidad Nacional Antisecuestro y Extorsi\u00f3n (Unase) identific\u00f3 el escondite en Toachi y Santa Martha, Santo Domingo de los Ts\u00e1chilas, donde capturaron a los hermanos Frank J. y \u00c1lex J., junto con \u00c1lvaro Jonathan Giler V\u00e9lez, todos con antecedentes por tenencia de armas y robo. Posteriormente, se trasladaron al cant\u00f3n Pichincha y durante la operaci\u00f3n se produjo un enfrentamiento que result\u00f3 en la muerte de un presunto secuestrador no identificado. All\u00ed rescataron a la mujer.
