Mayorga estar\u00e1 al frente de esta instituci\u00f3n, clave para controlar el funcionamiento de las c\u00e1rceles tras la violencia registrada desde hace cinco a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En el Decreto Ejecutivo tambi\u00e9n agradeci\u00f3 \u00ablos leales y valiosos servicios\u00bb de V\u00edctor Hugo Andrade Manotoa, quien estuvo a cargo de la instituci\u00f3n desde el 17 de febrero del 2025 y reemplaz\u00f3 a Luis Zaldumbide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A pesar que los hechos de violencia disminuyeron en las c\u00e1rceles, familiares de personas privadas de libertad (PPL) y organismos de derechos humanos han denunciado acciones y condiciones que estar\u00edan afectando el bienestar de los presos. Las \u00faltimas denuncias se realizaron en torno a casos de tuberculosis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Desde el 12 de abril del 2025, el Gobierno Nacional tambi\u00e9n declar\u00f3 estado de excepci\u00f3n en siete provincias, dos cantones y c\u00e1rceles de Ecuador.
