Este registro convirti\u00f3 a la ciudad en el lugar m\u00e1s fr\u00edo del planeta fuera de las regiones polares. Aunque la temperatura en Balmaceda fue notablemente baja, no se compara con los extremos alcanzados en la Ant\u00e1rtida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;El mismo d\u00eda, la base Concordia en la Ant\u00e1rtida registr\u00f3 -71,7\u00b0C, lo que demuestra las diferencias significativas entre ambos registros. El meteor\u00f3logo Andr\u00e9s Moncada de la DMC explic\u00f3 que la temperatura actual no rompe el r\u00e9cord hist\u00f3rico de Balmaceda. En 1958, la localidad alcanz\u00f3 una m\u00ednima hist\u00f3rica de -28,3\u00b0C. Estos datos indican que, aunque inusuales, temperaturas extremadamente bajas no son sin precedentes en la regi\u00f3n.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moncada se\u00f1al\u00f3 que las condiciones clim\u00e1ticas est\u00e1n mejorando y que las temperaturas subir\u00e1n ligeramente en los pr\u00f3ximos d\u00edas.
