Sofon\u00edas Rezabala se desempe\u00f1\u00f3 como bombero durante 45 a\u00f1os, de los cuales, 27 fue jefe bomberil. El coronel padec\u00eda de p\u00e1rkinson y se jubil\u00f3 de la casaca roja en el 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En Manta es muy reconocida su trabajo y labor social durante el tiempo que sirvi\u00f3 en la instituci\u00f3n bomberil. Desde los primero meses del 2023 su salud empez\u00f3 a deteriorarse, lo que lo llev\u00f3 a esta internado en varias ocasiones.
