Noboa, que es hincha de Emelec, confes\u00f3 que la desastrosa campa\u00f1a del club en la temporada 2023 le ha causado \u201cdepresi\u00f3n\u201d. \u201cYa no lo veo a Emelec ahorita, porque me causa depresi\u00f3n\u201d, dijo Noboa. \u201cLo veo por televisi\u00f3n porque ah\u00ed puedo apagarlo, cuando voy al estadio ya no puedo apagar nada\u201d. Emelec pas\u00f3 la mayor parte de la temporada en los \u00faltimos lugares de la LigaPro, peleando por no descender, y al final termin\u00f3 en el puesto 11 (entre 16 equipos) en la tabla acumulada, por lo que qued\u00f3 fuera de las competencias internacionales por primera vez desde 2008. Noboa, quien jug\u00f3 f\u00fatbol en su juventud, agreg\u00f3 que su padre siempre, el empresario y cinco veces candidato a la Presidencia, \u00c1lvaro Noboa, le inculc\u00f3 el amor por el deporte. \u201cMi padre siempre quiso que sepamos pelear por si alguien nos quer\u00eda molestar\u201d, dijo. Adem\u00e1s del f\u00fatbol, Noboa tambi\u00e9n practic\u00f3 artes marciales, esqu\u00ed alpino y snowboard, revel\u00f3 en la entrevista.
